Free website roast
A website roast is an honest reading of your site, not of you. You enter an address. We read the homepage and the important pages, and you get a score plus three sentences. You then decide whether to open the twelve fixes.
What a roast is, and what it is not
It is a reading of pages that came back. It is not a promise about revenue, and it is not a judgement of you as an owner.
The score and three sentences are free. The twelve fixes open after your email. We do not charge separately for the roast.
If the words only appear in the browser because the page is built with JavaScript, we try to read the rendered page. If that fails, the report says so. We do not invent a score to hide an empty page.
Which pages count
We start at the homepage. Then we look for pricing, about, contact, services and blog, when those addresses exist. It stays a handful of pages, not your whole archive.
We skip privacy, terms, login and the cart. Those pages say little about whether a buyer understands what you sell.
- A score only when the page actually came back.
- An address that returns nothing is not evidence.
- The report names the page a finding came from.
How to use the score this week
Read the three sentences first. They say what a stranger sees on those pages, not what you meant.
Pick the one page with the largest gap. That is usually the homepage or the pricing page: what you sell, for whom, and how someone starts a conversation.
Do not rewrite the whole site in an afternoon. One clear sentence and one path to contact change more than a new colour palette.
When a conversation beats another paragraph
The roast shows whether the site can carry a conversation. It does not call your customers or write your proposals.
If growth has stalled and the lists, messages and follow-up wait until you have time, that is a different question from a copy edit. Read the guide to a growth partner for SMEs, or book a conversation.

Questions about a free website roast
Is the website roast actually free?
Yes. The score and three sentences are free. The twelve fixes open after your email. There is no separate charge for the roast.
Which pages do you read?
The homepage and, when we find them, pricing, about, contact, services and blog. We report only on pages we actually fetched.
Is this a judgement of my company?
No. It is about the site, not the person. A sharp roast means the pages make a buyer guess. It does not mean the company is worthless.
What if my site is mostly JavaScript?
We try to read the rendered page, not only the empty source. If the words do not come back, the report says so. We do not invent a score for a page we could not read.
What should I do with the result?
Take one finding on one page. Make clear what you sell and how someone gets in touch. Then run the ChatGPT check or the competitor analysis, or book a conversation.
